New Ceiling Comic

A mere two months later... another comic! This one was a struggle indeed.
This has happened to both of us many times and often followed by an expletive. Living with my sister has been good. This past Friday night we went to the Rio Theater for the midnight movies and saw The Breakfast Club followed by Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Good times. All my staying up late finally paid off! I didn't nod off during the second movie like a certain someone.
I hope you all are enjoying winter! I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

Another Rainy Day Comic

Its been a while. Thanks for returning! All four of you! Here's a comic based on true events. Erin and I were walking in the rain, neither of us with an umbrella, talking about how it would make a good comic. Both of us know better. And it did make a good comic.

Two years. I've lived in Vancouver for two years now.

Clean dishes comic

Its been a while. I guess when I said I'd have a new comic soon I meant in a couple weeks. I'm living in the new place now! It is nice and cozy here. Add the heat wave and the top floor and you have a sauna. Its cooled down a little now, but its still to hot for me. Here's the comic.And the real thing.
I am excited to use it!

Glasses? Comic

It wasn't until after I had done a couple strips when I realized we weren't wearing glasses. It wasn't a conscience choice or anything, I just forgot! But now seeing them on I agree with my cartoon self. We look weird.
Still no Warror update. I'm working on it.

Sleeping Comic

It's made extra funny for the gamers and I because we all know this would never happen. Currently I am at level 66. Plus the windows side of computer has a virus. It's going to be a while before I can get anywhere near 100.... *sigh*

Cooking Comics

At it again with the comics. My Dad! I learned from the best. My family loves to make fun of his delicious, yet often slightly burnt, dishes. I hope the colours are a little better on this one. My monitors are so different sometimes I get confused.

For those of you who love comics, this Saturday, May 2, is free comic book day! So go to your local comic book store and see what they are giving away this year. I've never been to a free comic book day, but I am looking forward to it.

A Sisterly Comic

As some of you may know, Erin is moving to Vancouver in the fall and thus we have decided to become roommates. I don't know what she's thinking, but I'm always in for a good laugh. I remember some time ago Erin scoffing at the idea of living with me again. So I've been thinking: Which of my mundane habits will likely annoy my sister? And so a comic strip was born. Together Again. This is the first of many annoying mundane habits I have. I love my milk.For the lettering I used a super easy program that came with my mac called Comic Life. I've been waiting for a chance to use it. :)

Frames from Disney's Aladdin

I watched all the disney movies I have over the weekend. Beauty and the Beast remains one of my favorites alongside The Lion King. I love the animation of the beast's face at the end when he's dangling Gaston over the edge. You can see the complete tranformation he makes during the movie in his expression. I also found these frames of Aladdin quite amusing. It makes him look so fluid when you watch it, but so funny when you go frame by frame.

This is the famous Prince Ali greeting his adoring fans. What a guy.

Some Drawings

This is charlie brown, the best that I could remember him at the time. Next to him is a business man, one of many that look alike. Then there's that girl singing along to the Beatles. I was listening to the Beatles on the way home a couple days ago and thats how I felt. Well, I wasn't technically listening to the Beatles, it was the Across the Universe soundtrack, but I give them credit for making me want to sing in the streets. I didn't of course, but I did get home to crank the volume and draw this picture. :)
I am still working on the warrior game. The next update is going to be epic, so just be prepared. I added a link on the side bar so you can always have fun times playing it.

edit 13/04/09: Warrior Game has been updated. Check it out. Warning: Not Epic yet.

Expanded Universe

I worked some more on Warrior for Hire. It took some time to get your inventory items to go between locations with you. I think I can figure out a way to make your head face the right way depending which building you exit. Next on the to do list: Fighting! The good stuff at last :) Same link again.

Warrior for Hire

Also check out the new addition! If you look closely you can see some electrical tape on the pickups. They needed a little help staying in place.

Updated Game

I updated the link in the previous post. You can now wear the shades! And lose health by walking over the black box. You can increase your health by drinking sodas. :)
Its a lot more scripting than I thought... for example:

// ||Waxon Script||
this.onEnterFrame = function(){

// character control
if(Key.isDown(Key.LEFT)){
dir = -100
_root.char._x -= 4;
_root.char._xscale = dir;
_root.char.gotoAndStop(2);
} else if(Key.isDown(Key.RIGHT)){
dir = 100
_root.char._x += 4;
_root.char._xscale = dir;
_root.char.gotoAndStop(2);
} else if(Key.isDown(Key.UP)){
_root.char._y -= 4;
_root.char._xscale = dir;
_root.char.gotoAndStop(2);
} else if(Key.isDown(Key.DOWN)){
_root.char._y += 4;
_root.char._xscale = dir;
_root.char.gotoAndStop(2);
} else{
_root.char.gotoAndStop(1); // idle
}

That is just to make the character walk around properly. This is not including when he bumps into stuff and his soon to come attacks.
Also the fonts are wrong and it doesn't always load properly.
More fixes to come!

One weekends work.

This weekend I spent some quality time with Flash and ActionScript. I found a really good flash tutorial site a while back and have been thinking of making a game since. Then I saw this video... about Flash animation... and 40 hours later...
this came out
I really wanted you to be able to see the shades on him, but I am a noob. It can be done somehow I know.
Click those blue things in the corner. For fun.
Feel free to comment and critique.
In the future hopefully you will be able to go on quests to fight stuff, gain exp, buy rocket packs and night vision goggles. All that good stuff.

Demon #1

Drawing a demon is a good way to perk up your mondays. This guy goes along with a story that's been brewing in my head for a while. He is one of seven demons out to control the living. Because he uses "magic" I didn't want to give him armour, but I still think he looks under-dressed. Just for the record, let it be known that I hate drawing feet.

Celebrities?

So I was watching some late night talk shows for some laughs and trying to do sketches of the guests. I will just tell you who they are based on because you are never going to be able to guess. Clockwise from top left: Jeff Bridges, Craig Ferguson, random person, Leelee Sobieski, Laura Prepon, and Seth MacFarlane. See you wouldn't have gotten those well known faces from my doodles! Failed Headers

Here are the headers that didn't make the cut. You can see the second one obviously failed because it looks like "you missing sock" and the first one was not a colour scheme I was willing to commit to. So there you have it. A play by play of how this mysterious blog got its image. If you stay tuned you may eventually hear of how it got it's name. Gallaxhar out.

An old sketch

Just thought I'd keep things moving with this goodie. Also letting you know that if you are wondering what movie to watch I recommend "King of California." Its only a couple years old. A friend lent it to me and I enjoyed it greatly. Its a quirky father daughter story with Michael Douglas and Evan Rachel Wood.

First Entry

Ta da! A blog. I thought I'd start out with a sketch of my friend relaxing on the side of a mountain. I think this was taken when we were climbing up the side, so its closer to the top than you think. It was at Marmot Basin up the knob chair. My least favorite chair for riding, but my favorite run for boarding.

Anyway, I hope this blog continues to be a place where I post my sketches (mostly the good ones), and other creative endeavors I may partake.
